Kutztown Festival - June 28 thru July 6, 2008

Come see us at the 58th annual Kutztown Festival in Kutztown, PA.

We are proud to be a featured presenter this year at this historic event and will be demonstrating traditional timber framing by building a picnic pavilion.

Come out to meet the crew and see first hand the technique and hand-cutting of a traditional timber frame!

Raising day for the pavilion is scheduled for July 3. The timber frame Picnic Pavilion that we will build in our demonstration is for sale - and we will move it to your location! The pavilion is 16' x 24' and hand joined in Eastern White Pine - if you're interested, please contact us. Here are two drawings of the pavilion, and pictures of the completed pavilion will soon be added to our website.

Bring your family to enjoy the finest in traditional crafts, food, music and folklife. Fun for all ages! 200 of Americas finest traditional craftsmen. Fascinating demonstrations and treasures you can take home.

Located in Southeastern Pennsylvania, the festival is just a short trip by car or bus from New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore and other parts of the Northeastern United States.

Demonstrations will run the gamut from farming and gardening to churches and weddings. Other exhibits will focus on Pennsylvania-Dutch dialect and folklore, spinning and weaving, country cooks, blacksmiths, furniture, candles and more.


PA Energy Fest - September 19, 20 and 21, 2008

We were there in 2007 and probably will be back in 2008 - check it out! The PA Energy Fest in Kempton, PA.  Hope to see you there!

The PA Energy Fest is a three-day festival about renewable energy, natural building construction, sustainable agriculture, land-use planning, forestry and healthy living practices in general. It features dynamic speakers, national exhibitors, workshops, hands-on demonstrations, vendors, live music and entertainment, children's activities, food and more.


A New Dojo Goes Up

We have just completed crafting and installing our portion of the Dojo project - the trusses, roof and related framework. It was very satisfying to help this owner's 35 year dreams come true by building this large backyard studio (the main room is 30 by 40 with no inner posts). Now our client and his friends can practice the martial art of Kendo in his own dojo.
